Dr Peter Slinger has worked within the field of Health and Safety for more than 20 years. Having served an electrical apprenticeship in the Construction Industry in the late 1970’s he returned to University and graduated with a BSc in Health and Safety in 1987. Working as a Health and Safety Inspector over the following years, he attained post graduate masters level qualifications before embarking in PhD research in the 1990’s.

Having worked as a Health and Safety Inspector for 16 years, Dr Slinger then worked as a Senior Lecturer in Health and Safety at Manchester Metropolitan University, specialising in Construction and Asbestos related fields.

In 2002, Dr Slinger commenced work as a Health and Safety Consultant and Project Safety Coordinator, advising both Public and Private Sector Clients across a wide range of industries. He has acted as Lead Planning Supervisor on numerous major construction and civil engineering projects and he has provided advice to major Blue Chip Companies, Contractors and Government Departments.

In 2004, Dr Slinger founded SafetyNet Ltd, a leading Health and Safety consultancy. The Company provides Clients with professional services including safety training, asbestos surveys and asbestos management advice, project safety coordination and general safety management.

Dr Slinger is a Chartered Member of IOSH and has attained Registered Safety Practitioner (RSP) status with the Institute. He is also a Chartered Member of the Institute of Environmental Health and a full Member of the Association for Project Safety (MaPS).
