Why should I attend this course?

Course Overview

The course will provide delegates with the knowledge & skills needed to avoid inadvertently disturbing asbestos material in buildings. It also provides managers with the key skills needed to discharge their duty to manage asbestos containing materials in their buildings.

Aim of the Course:
To raise awareness about the dangers associated with working at height and to train workers in appropriate precautionary techniques.

Objectives:
To learn about asbestos products and their uses within buildings.
To raise awareness of the health hazards associated with exposure to asbestos fibres.
To enable managers to carry out suitable and sufficient risk assessments with regard to buildings under their control.
To provide the key skills necessary to manage asbestos within buildings.
To provide site workers with the key skills necessary to ensure that asbestos material is not disturbed during routine maintenance and refurbishment activities.

Methods used:

PowerPoint presentations, videos and small group work.
